Midori Rainford is an contemporary artist, writer, and filmmaker who uses her interdiciplinary practice to explore nuance in black visual culture. Her practice centers systems of belonging, activism in marginalized communities, and technology/knowledge as a tool of preservation, collection, and healing. Using literature, workshops, lectures, and performances, Midori’s critical and creative voice constantly evalutates: What are the conditions in which you are performing? What norms are you internalizing? What theories, rhetorics, and literacies have been used to engage their respective communities?
